Man oh man are people going to be surprised when they physically die!
Hebrews 12:16-17, “16 Lest there be any fornicator, or profane person, as Esau, who for one morsel of meat sold his birthright. 17 For ye know how that afterward, when he would have inherited the blessing, he was rejected: for he found no place of repentance, though he sought it carefully with tears.”
Repentance is a precious gift from God. Imagine seeking repentance even with tears, but not being able to receive it. Many fake it. And while faking it, they make themselves totally comfortable in the world. They have friendship with the world.
The whole world and the world system is against Jesus. Yet people can spend their whole life immersed in the world while faking both repentance and relationship concerning Jesus. When faking these, there’s no moving away from the world or calling out the world for what it is. There’s indulging in the world and indulging in the flesh. Fake Christians will do this while playing churchy games or even running religious businesses.
Imagine melting into the world and never being able to call it out or expose it, but you call yourself a Christian who repented and who got saved.
“You’ll know them by their fruits” can be as simple as saying “Are you exposing evil, exposing the world, getting genuinely hated, getting genuinely persecuted, etc.?” Because there will be intense fruit in your life if you can truly see the world for what it is and you expose it. But not the fake and feel good churchy kind of fruit that actually feeds the flesh.
Jesus and his first century disciples were LITERALLY MURDERED for exposing the world and those who love the world! How’s THAT for fruit?! Exposing dark and evil things (including people) in the world will burn within you also as you walk in the Holy Spirit. You will be radically hated by the world and those who love the world – even as they pretend to be nice people.
But what do we get in Cultural Pseudo-Christianity instead of genuine bold Christians? We get fake Christians who love their life here in the world. They melt into the world and they never expose evil and darkness. They go with the flow of the world.
Imagine being a pastor your whole life – or owning and running a religious business your whole life… And now you’re older and you’ve done what you and many others think are “good works” your whole life. Your life looks great concerning the outward appearance, but you’re good at concealing that you’re ugly in heart. Your friendship is with the world and with those who love the world. What if you’ve never been granted the gift of repentance and salvation, and your friendship was with the world and those who love the world your whole fake life? In your deception, you’ve never truly exposed evil, darkness, the world, and those who love the world. And you come to find yourself despising and hating on genuine Christians who expose evil, darkness, the world, and those who love the world.
This is similar to fake religious people in the first century who wanted Jesus and his disciples dead because they were boldly exposing things. And these religious people looked great in society and to others who loved the world. And what was the fruit in Jesus’ life and the lives of his first century disciples? They were radically hated and literally murdered by evil people who loved the world.
James 4:4, “Ye adulterers and adulteresses, know ye not that the friendship of the world is enmity with God? whosoever therefore will be a friend of the world is the enemy of God.”
1 John 2:15-16, “15 Love not the world, neither the things that are in the world. If any man love the world, the love of the Father is not in him. 16 For all that is in the world, the lust of the flesh, and the lust of the eyes, and the pride of life, is not of the Father, but is of the world.”
Matthew 7:21-23, “21 Not every one that saith unto me, Lord, Lord, shall enter into the kingdom of heaven; but he that doeth the will of my Father which is in heaven. 22 Many will say to me in that day, Lord, Lord, have we not prophesied in thy name? and in thy name have cast out devils? and in thy name done many wonderful works? 23 And then will I profess unto them, I never knew you: depart from me, ye that work iniquity.”
