Gary DeMar and THE Parousia of Christ!

Gary DeMar and THE (definite article) Parousia (proper noun) of Christ!

The Greek word “parousia” means “coming, arrival, appearing, and presence” – in other words, “the showing up of somebody when they literally come and arrive in their genuine presence”.

Gary DeMar is a slickster and a huckster and a fraud! Welcome to my life! I’ve been seeing this heretical garbage in “Covenant Eschatology/Creation Full Preterism” for 25 years! It’s worth noting that Gary DeMar has been keeping his intimate fellowship company with the false teachers in “Covenant Eschatology/Creation Full Preterism” – even speaking at their conferences! He even recently wrote a book with a loud and proud “Covenant Eschatology Full Preterism” teacher, Robert Cruickshank! What?!?!

1 Corinthians 15:33, “Be not deceived: evil communications corrupt good manners.”

“Covenant Eschatology/Creation Full Preterism” is a legitimate cult out from a guy named Max King – who wrote the first book on this cult doctrine in 1971.

The key deceptive phrase from Gary DeMar in the screenshot here is “like He said He would”.

Gary’s full hidden definition and deceptive comment is, “Jesus did return like He said He would.” (see first screenshot)

Ooooohhh! Do tell Gary! Inquiring minds want to know! Like some in the PCA and NAPARC!

Gary has taken the position that the “Parousia of Christ” is a PROCESS. It’s now allegedly a PROCESS that merely BEGAN in the first century.

It’s like saying there’s a multi-staged or multi-pronged approach to looking at the coming, arrival, appearing, and presence of Christ. This even gets into a “New” Postmillennialism that’s being formed by guys like Gary DeMar, Doug Wilson, Jeff Durbin, Ken Gentry, and other “Postmillennialists”. It includes a fast and loose and slippery definition of the “coming, arrival, appearing, and presence of Christ”. And all these guys are doing their best to try and walk a fine line while not becoming TOO exposed to the masses.

It’s 100% a redefinition of how the Greek word “parousia” is used in the New Testament for THE (definite article) second coming of Christ. The word parousia is used 24 times and 17 of these times are referencing THE Parousia (proper noun) of Christ – or the “coming, arrival, appearing, and presence of Christ”.

When studying the New Testament, there are NOT MANY OR VARIOUS “second comings” or “parousias” of Christ taught by anybody! The Greek word “parousia” in the New Testament that’s in the context of “Christ’s coming” (17 times) ALWAYS REFERENCES THE ONE AND ONLY SECOND COMING OF CHRIST!

So where are these charlatans and con men getting the authority and the permission to change the definition of “the coming, arrival, appearing, and presence of Christ”?!

Why is it a PROCESS now?! Why are there MANY comings now – instead of THE second coming?! This isn’t the way the Greek word “parousia” is used in the New Testament!!

It’s definitely not a PROCESS like these guys are making it to be (even Max Kingism guy Ed Stevens).

It’s an EVENT on one day in the timeline of Creation and Humankind. You know… Like Jesus LITERALLY shows up in his LITERALLY presence! Not in some hyper-metaphoric or some hyper-hyperbolic or some hyper-symbolic way! There’s obviously metaphor, hyperbole, and symbolism in the Bible, but these guys radically abuse these to now redefine THE “coming, arrival, appearing, and presence (THE Parousia) of Christ”.

Now it’s in MANY ways and MANY times over a PROCESS that allegedly began in the first century!

Clever! Clever! Clever! And if one doesn’t know this redefinition that Gary DeMar deceptively throws in, things go unnoticed, misconstrued, misinterpreted, etc. Gary is a pro level player of subterfuge and hiding things in order to APPEAR a certain way – like Don Preston, William Bell, Ed Stevens, and gang in “Covenant Eschatology/Creation Full Preterism”!

If you look at John Noe’s definition (Covenant Eschatology cult adherent ), he claims Christ came in the first century in various ways, and that Christ is continually coming and will continue to come – such as in natural disasters and military conquests of nations. He says – like Gary DeMar now – that the destruction of Israel’s temple in Jerusalem in AD 70 was “a” coming of Christ – as in “one of many comings of Christ”! But there are many more “comings” than just this! Perhaps hundreds of thousands! Perhaps millions upon millions! Perhaps billions!

You know… That really bad car accident when your relative hit an animal and they got laid up and gave their life to Jesus in the hospital? Jesus “came to them in the form and the sign and symbolism of the animal”!

Wow! Talk about redefining THE Parousia of Christ! Paul would absolutely reject this as heresy and blasphemy – rightfully so! Paul clearly teaches THE Parousia of Christ! And certainly NOT MANY “parousias of Christ throughout a process”!

These guys are playing people! This is leading people astray and shipwrecking and destroying people’s faith! More and more are deconstructing out of Christianity after getting involved with this heresy!

Check out the beginning of Joel Richardson’s recent discussion with Gary DeMar on YouTube! Gary kicks into the “hummanna hummanna hummanna” for quite a while as he was blatantly trying to misdirect Joel Richardson and the viewers!

Like Don Preston, William Bell, Ed Stevens, Mike Sullivan, David Curtis, Robert Cruickshank, Zach Davis, and others in “Covenant Eschatology/Creation Full Preterism” (Max Kingism), Gary DeMar proves himself to be a deceptive false teacher who is purposefully and blatantly using subterfuge and trickery to try and not give up the goods – what he’s REALLY teaching under all the bluster!
