There are some people who are not born again by God who think they know God’s Salvation. They think they know what the process is to save the Church and they think they know what it means to be personally saved, but it’s all human reasoning that is akin to putting puzzle pieces together. They’re not genuinely born again by God, but their human reasoning and their human volition (will) has them wrestling with issues that pertain to Salvation. People can even do this in a church atmosphere their whole life here on Earth!
With all the human reasoning, wrestling with doctrine, and vexation of personal spirit, they’ve never come to the end of themself. They’ve never been allowed by God to truly see their personal death problem.
Some people can go their whole life here on Earth trying to mentally ascend to some Salvation program without ever seeing the one and only genuine Gospel of Salvation by God’s grace. Some are vexed in personal spirit as they continually wrestle with how to “get there” – to this place of being “saved”.
What’s the means? What’s the trick? What’s the solution? What’s the fix? What’s the remedy? What do ya gotta do?!
People are rarely told the problem! How can you consider the fix and remedy if you don’t even know the problem?
Listen carefully here, because your eternal destination is on the line… You have a personal death problem. It’s inherent. It’s been passed down. Your literal father’s seed could not produce perfection, immortality, and incorruption in you. Neither could your father’s father’s seed. This continues to go back to the beginning. If you’re a man, your seed cannot produce this in your child.
Every human is conceived in sin and born in corruption. I absolutely know this doesn’t feel good to hear this, especially if a lot of self esteem and a lot of “working on yourself to get healthy” has come your way. Until you look right at your inherent personal death and corruption problem for what it really is, you’ll never need the fix and remedy.
So many seem to get close to the finish line, but they can’t seem to put all the pieces of the puzzle together in order to be able to finish the race and the puzzle. There’s missing pieces, and your human reasoning and your human will just don’t seem to be enough to be able to complete the puzzle. It eludes you, though you seem to want it so bad. You can simply look at Creation and know there’s more to this life than just simply living and dying and daily tasks. I mean, who doesn’t want to be saved – if Salvation and Eternal Life in your afterlife was such a thing?
The problem is that very few are able to see the depth of the blackness and sin and depravity in their own heart and their own life here on Earth. Very few can ever go to THAT place. It’s not a fun and feel good place. It’s devastating. It will wreck you to even get close to looking at this place. Many turn away and choose to not look any deeper. Who wants to see their inherent personal death and corruption problem for what it really is?
If you can’t see your genuine personal inherent condition, why would you need a fix or remedy? You’re good, right? You’re no THAT bad, right?
There is no measuring up to be good or get things right. How I wish more people knew this deep inside. Legalism and the performance trap suck so bad!
If you’re a kid and you’ve been bad and rebellious all week – you know, really selfish, ugly, and bratty kid stuff – and your dad told you at the beginning of the week that he’d take you to the carnival for the first time on the weekend, when you get to the carnival and you see a ride that makes your eyes really wide and you want to experience it with everything in you, and you then turn to your dad and excitedly ask, “Dad, can I go on THAT ride?”, you hear him say, “Sure, let’s go get some tickets, I’ll ride with you”, this is called grace.
Your dad knew your condition all week. And you didn’t have the means to get on the ride. But you knew your dad did. And you didn’t have to scheme or manipulate or behave a certain way in order to get on the ride. You knew your dad had the means to get the ticket for you to get on the ride.
As a child you go to bed that night after some funnel cake, cotton candy, or a candy apple that your dad bought you, and you briefly think to yourself, “Life is good. I’m tired. I’m going to sleep.”
Matthew 18:1-4, At that time the disciples came to Jesus, saying, “Who is the greatest in the kingdom of heaven?” And calling to him a child, he put him in the midst of them, and said, “Truly, I say to you, unless you turn and become like children, you will never enter the kingdom of heaven. Whoever humbles himself like this child, he is the greatest in the kingdom of heaven.
