The saints who are alive and remain at the second coming of Jesus most definitely get literally caught up (harpazo, raptured, seized, snatched away) into the literal air to meet (apantesis, face to face meeting, encounter) Jesus and the saints out from Sheol in the air.

1 Thessalonians 4:17, “Then we which are alive and remain shall be caught up [harpazo] together with them in the clouds, to meet [apantesis] the Lord in the air: and so shall we ever be with the Lord.”

There is nothing mystical, metaphoric, and hyper-spiritualized about this, as Don Preston, the top teacher in the Covenant Eschatology Full Preterism Cult, insists happened at “the second coming of Christ” in AD 70.

The verses that need to be properly interpreted are included both in the attached image and below in this article. If you’re going to take this seriously, you must properly interpret these verses!

First of all, these verses are NOT an insane “covenantal” and “corporate body view” context. Max King, the creator of the Covenant Eschatology Full Preterism Cult in 1971, blew it royally on that one, and Don Preston and William Bell kept this insane false “corporate body view” (CBV) doctrine alive, even to the point that the new popular hotshot kid in this cult, Zach Davis, is now teaching the heretical “corporate body view” alongside Don Preston on a regular basis.

And since there actually is a “bodily change”” and a “change to immortality” in Scripture at the second coming of Jesus (parousia, advent, arrival, presence), HOW IS THIS CHANGE DEFINED?!

Aaaaaaahh! THIS is the important question in Preterism that needs to be DEFINED!

How is the “bodily change” and the “change to immortality” DEFINED?

And, of course, this relates directly to how one is then going to define the promised Rapture!

This is what needs to be hashed out in these Scripture verses below!

What do the saints EXPERIENCE as “the bodily change” and “the change to immortality” at the second coming of Jesus?!

In other words, what happens at the Rapture (harpazo) at the second coming of Jesus?

You’ve got to be willing to answer this clearly, concisely, and succinctly! There’s no room for wishy-washy hyper-spiritualizing nonsense!

Don Preston, the top teacher in the Covenant Eschatology Full Preterism Cult (who is now intensely pouring himself into Zach Davis so his legacy and spirit can continue in Zach), claims that the alive saints REMAINED ON EARTH at “the second coming of Jesus in AD 70”, and that they were super happy at their “vindication”, when their persecutors in Jerusalem were getting persecuted by the Roman army, even to the point they could have been dancing and jumping up and down with joy over the destruction of Jerusalem and many of their kinsmen getting killed! Oh my!

Don Preston defines “harpazo” (rapture, to seize, to snatch, to be caught up) in 1 Thessalonians 4:17 as the saints on Earth going through a metaphorical, mystical, and hyper-spiritualized rising into the air to meet Christ on his journey to Earth, and then they escorted Christ from the air to the Earth, but the saints never literally physically left the Earth – it was all just a metaphoric and hyper-spiritualized going up into the air and coming back down to the Earth!

Don Preston must say these saints merely manifested and imagined that they were leaving the Earth to meet the returning Christ in the air, to then manifest and imagine that they came back down to Earth with Christ.

That’s the “Rapture” according to the top teacher in the Covenant Eschatology Full Preterism Cult, Don Preston! Perhaps they had hot air balloons in the first century, and they all took some up and down hot air balloon rides at “the second coming of Christ” in AD 70. Perhaps the cult members in the Covenant Eschatology Full Preterism Cult can memorialize Don Preston’s definition of the Rapture by all taking a quick up and down hot air balloon ride!

Who could possibly buy such a weird, mystical, hyper-spiritualized, and bad interpretation of the Rapture?!

It seems the new popular hotshot kid in this cult, Zach Davis, is under the literal spell of Don Preston, even as Max King, the founder of this cult, personally poured himself into Don Preston, William Bell, and Ed Stevens. If you think the demonic (literal evil spirits as demons) is not involved in this cult, you better think again! Even Gary DeMar from American Vision is now wrapped up in this cult.

Imagine if you applied Don Preston’s Rapture teaching to the Rapture taking place tomorrow!

You’d have to say, “Well, we’re going to manifest and pretend that we go up into the air tomorrow, to meet Jesus in the air as he’s coming down, and then after we metaphorically meet Jesus in the metaphoric air, we’ll manifest and pretend that we come back down to Earth as we escort Jesus to forever be with us here, but we will never really leave the Earth, and Jesus doesn’t literally come to be with us here on Earth to live with us. It’s all just imagined, hyper-spiritual, manifested, and metaphoric, as we pretend that Jesus comes to live with us here forever and ever on Earth tomorrow.”

And THAT’S “the second coming of Christ in AD 70” to Don Preston!l, the top teacher in this cult!

Another word besides harpazo (rapture) that is VERY important to define is “parousia”!

The word parousia means “coming, advent, presence, and arrival”. Don Preston, William Bell, Max King, and others that they have poured themselves into, define “the parousia of Christ in AD 70” as the spiritual Presence of the Christ in Spirit coming down out of Heaven to dwell in his people on Earth ever since AD 70!

Oh my! That New Age religion sounding (because it is!)

In other words, since Don Preston and others in the Covenant Eschatology Full Preterism Cult define “the second coming of Christ in AD 70” as “the spiritual Presence of Christ that came down to Earth in AD 70”, this “Christ” that “returned a second time in AD 70” is here right now as “Presence” and “Spirit” dwelling in “his body”, the “Church”.

THIS is how these cult teachers are defining the parousia (coming, advent, presence, and arrival) of Christ in AD 70, and this now includes Gary DeMar from American Vision! They say that the Parousia of the Christ in AD 70 manifest the special Presence of the Christ in AD 70, and they say this same special Presence of the Christ is here even now, ever since AD 70, when this special Presence showed up!

Yep! That is New Age religion for sure!

THIS IS WHY DEFINITIONS MATTER SO MUCH!!
