Gary DeMar joined the Max King Cult called Covenant Eschatology Full Preterism. He’ll probably deny it, but he did join it. Max King formally came up with this in 1971, even as he worked on his framework throughout the 1960’s.
The main false doctrine in this cult is the claim that an alleged “Old Covenant Age/World/Order/System/Kingdom/Creation” became an alleged “New Covenant Age/World/Order/System/Kingdom/Creation” in the first century.
This “change” or “transition” allegedly took place over a “40 year covenant change process” that “ended in AD 70” with “the coming of Christ” when Jerusalem was destroyed by the Romans.
In the Covenant Eschatology Full Preterism Cult, they define “The Resurrection” as BOTH a “40 year PROCESS between the cross and AD 70” AND a “singular EVENT in AD 70” where a “corporate group/people of God” (a “corporate body”) was “raised to immortality and incorruption”.
Cults are always about redefining terms! The Max King Cult uses Christian and biblical terms, but they have different and unique definitions!
It was actually Sam Frost who contributed greatly to this cult’s doctrine! Sam helped with the whole “en egerio” doctrine of “a corporate body BEING RAISED over a 40 year process”!
They teach that there was “a standing again” or “a being raised” of “a corporate body Israel” taking place over a “40 year resurrecting process”. And in AD 70, this “corporate body Israel” was “covenantally changed” and “metaphorically raised from the metaphoric grave of Old Covenant Age metaphoric spiritual death”.
This “body of the Resurrection” was “changed to immortality and incorruption” and became “the corporate body Church” in AD 70 at “the coming of Christ”.
They also push a “40 year Atonement process”, where “the corporate body Israel/Church” was redeemed and saved “when the high priest Christ came out of the holy of holies in Heaven in AD 70 to dwell in God’s people, the Church”.
There’s a lot more false doctrine and heresy than this. This is just some of it. This is both a radical Gnosticism and New Age religion cult out from Max King, the founder of this cult in 1971. The main false teachers in this cult today are Gary DeMar, Don Preston, William Bell, Ed Stevens, David Curtis, Mike Sullivan, Zach Davis, Michael Miano, Jeff Vaughn, Tim Martin, Ward Fenley, Holger Neubauer, Steve Baisden, Daniel Rogers, Charles Meek, Daniel Rogers, Robert Cruickshank, Joel Rosenauer, Steve Magua, Rick Welch, Kristin Bingamon, Spencer Smith, Alex Polyak, and Cindye Coates.
