These two images below are from Gary DeMar’s book. Remember to read between the proverbial lines. He’s being clever, and if you know what he’s really saying, it’s bad stuff!
Gary has taken on “Covenant Eschatology Full Preterism” out from Max King in 1971. He’s been showing up as a speaker at their conferences. Don Preston is the top false teacher in “Covenant Eschatology”, and Gary was a speaker next to Don at a recent “Covenant Creation Full Preterism” conference. “Covenant Creation” is an offshoot of “Covenant Eschatology”.
Gary will deny he teaches this, but he pushing the same thing they teach about an alleged (and non-existent) end of the Old Covenant Age” in the first century with a “presence” or “parousia” (coming, arrival) of Christ in Spirit form.
Read between the lines in these images below! It’s bad stuff! This cult out from Max King in 1971 called “Covenant Eschatology Full Preterism” is leading many astray today.
Gary DeMar is being deceptive. He’s hiding a lot. He took on a certain framework and interpretive method (hermeneutic). He’s giving out morsels of his new theology, but he’s keeping the big stuff hidden. He’s testing the waters. He’s putting the bait on the hook. He’s looking to win whoever he can to himself and his new theology (“Covenant Eschatology”). The morsels are merely talking points to see who will come on board (sadly, some will). The much bigger concern is his teaching that the “parousia of Christ” (presence, coming, arrival) took place in Spirit form in the first century at the alleged “end of the Old Covenant Age”! Gary is not being honest about his framework. Again, he’s hiding a lot!
Definitions! Definitions! Definitions! Same Christian terms, but different definitions! This is a mark of a cult! And Max Kingism (“Covenant Eschatology Full Preterism”) is definitely a cult! They even deny the biological blood and body death sacrifice of Jesus on the cross in favor of a “spiritual death of Christ” and a “40 year Atonement process ending in AD 70” (I don’t know if Gary has gotten this deep yet).
