The following (below) is my comment out from a longer discussion that continued this morning.

When looking at Full Preterism and the Covenant Eschatology Full Preterism cult, if you’ve studied cults as long as I have, it’s very easy to see how “the Mystical Christ” of “Covenant Eschatology Full Preterism” attracts people who are into Occult New Age mysticism and religion.

The founder of this cult in 1971, Max King, got into both Universalism and Occult New Age studies in the 1990’s.

The current main teachers in this cult are having a conference in July of 2026, and their advertisment for this get together is 100% Occult New Age religion. It seems that they’re truly embracing their roots with Max King – as they seem poised right now to try and take this cult to the next level with blatantly embracing “the Return of the Presence of the Mystical Christ in AD 70”. These main cult leaders are finally embracing and going down the mystical Occult New Age religion road that the founder of this cult went down.

Even Gary DeMar from American Vision now teaches this Mystical Christ’s end time Presence (Parousia) came back in the first century as “Spirit”.

So they are all teaching that the end time Parousia (Presence) of the Mystical Christ took place in the first century, and that this Parousia was mystical, metaphoric, and in “Spirit”.

It’s a shame that these men are redefining and manipulating the Greek word “parousia” which means “presence”.

What was always understood to mean the LITERAL coming, arrival, appearing, and presence OF THE LITERAL MAN JESUS CHRIST in his END TIME “Parousia” (defined in the Bible as coming, arrival, appearing, and presence) when HE LITERALLY DESCENDS AT THE LAST TRUMPET, is now defined as mystical, metaphoric, hyper-spiritualized, and in “Spirit”!

And this cult’s now-redefined “in Spirit”, mystical, metaphoric, and hyper-spiritualized “end time coming, arrival, appearance, and presence of Christ” allegedly applies to “Christ already came back the second time in this form and this nature in the first century”.

They might say “the parousia of Christ” was “the Roman army”, or “the destruction of Israel’s city”, or “in the clouds”, or “the fire destroying Israel’s temple”, or “Titus”, or “one million Jews getting slaughtered”, or a myriad of other things BESIDES THE LITERAL DESCENDING AND LITERAL PRESENCE OF THE LITERAL MAN JESUS CHRIST IN HIS LITERAL PAROUSIA (PRESENCE).

Make the whole Bible now be myth, metaphor, allegory, symbolism, hyperbole, and poetry – WITH SPECIAL TEACHERS WHO DECIPHER AND DECODE ALL THIS FOR YOU – and you’re good to go! NOT!

Now… If you’re into Mysticism, Esotericism, Gnosticism, and Occult New Age religion, this all surely sounds and feels real good! But if you’re into being intellectually honest and responsible with handling healthy study of the Bible, this mystical, metaphoric, hyper-spiritualized, and “in Spirit” end time coming, arrival, appearing, and presence of Christ in the first century is something you’ll very clearly see as heresy, blasphemy, and a false Jesus Christ.

In responsibly studying the Greek word “parousia” in the New Testament in relation to the END TIME coming, arrival, appearing, and presence of the PERSON of Jesus Christ, you will NEVER come up with an insane and heretical “mystical, metaphoric, hyper-spiritualized, and in Spirit” coming, arrival, appearing, and presence of Jesus Christ in the first century!

This is a blatant false Jesus Christ. This cult’s “Christ who came back in the first century in a mystical, metaphoric, and hyper-spiritualized way” is a blatant false Occult New Age religion Christ! These cult teachers in the Covenant Eschatology Full Preterism cult are PROUD to come right out and say, “Yes! Christ returned and came back in the first century, and it was all mystical, metaphoric, hyper-spiritualized, and in Spirit!” They reinterpret the word “parousia”, and they make it be whatever mystical thing they want it to be EXCEPT the literal descending, returning, and coming back of the literal MAN Jesus Christ!

They say, “Pfffft! Jesus Christ the literal man didn’t literally descend at the last trumpet! Who could believe THAT nonsense? The Hebraic Mindset informs us that his descent and presence was mystical and metaphoric, and certainly not a literal descending of the literal man Jesus Christ! Christ came and returned in Presence to dwell in Spirit, and the Christ’s Presence is here right now in Spirit in the New Jerusalem that came down ever since the Christ came back and dwelt among us in AD 70.”

THIS IS NOT THE JESUS CHRIST OF THE BIBLE! THIS IS AN OCCULT NEW AGE RELIGION MYSTICAL CHRIST!

Nothing you said addresses the parousia (presence) of the Lord Jesus Christ at his coming, appearing, and arrival. There is this extremely important and colossal moment in time that is mentioned in the Bible as the second coming of Jesus Christ. And all you get from Covenant Eschatology Full Preterism cult members is “Christ came back in mystical and metaphoric ways.”

The top teacher in this cult, Don Preston, says that the alive saints “at Christ’s coming” were metaphorically caught up (harpazo) in the metaphoric air to meet (apantesis) the Presence of Christ, and then they metaphorically escorted the Presence of Christ down. They never left the Earth, as it was all mystical and metaphoric.

There ya have it! Everything concerning “being caught up” and “meeting Christ in the air” JUST GOT REDEFINED and grossly misinterpreted by a false teacher who is trying to stuff verses and teachings into an insane “corporate body Israel getting resurrected in AD 70 as the corporate body Church”!

AND PEOPLE DON’T CARE ABOUT SUCH INTELLECTUAL DISHONESTY! PEOPLE APPLAUD SUCH SLICK CHARLATANS AND FALSE TEACHERS LIKE DON PRESTON, ZACH DAVIS, MIKE SULLIVAN, WILLIAM BELL, ETC.

And everybody in the cult is running around WITH THEIR OWN MYSTICAL REINTERPRETATIONS AND REDEFINITIONS of plain and simple speech – while saying “You’ve got to understand the Hebraic Mindset, Ancient Near East culture, Old Testament prophecy and fulfillment, and myth, metaphor, allegory, symbolism, hyperbole, and poetry!”

These false teachers have special crooked definitions for theological words and terms, and they are only successful if they get enough people to buy into their cult definitions.

Anybody who has intensively studied cults can easily tell that everybody buying into “Covenant Eschatology Full Preterism” is in a cult that uses very specific and special cult language and definitions.

The bottom line is that the Jesus Christ of the Covenant Eschatology Full Preterism cult is a false Jesus Christ that’s close to any mystical Occult New Age religion “Christ”.

This whole cult says “Christ came back in the first century”, but then they are all forced to talk about how mystical, metaphoric, and hyper-spiritualized this “coming, appearing, and arriving of Christ” was in AD 70. Nobody has straight answers!

No longer is it THE MAN JESUS CHRIST who literally descends from Heaven at the last trumpet!

NOW IN THIS CULT, it’s all mystical and metaphoric – and you need special interpreters of the Bible to explain to you just how mystical and metaphoric it really was.

You’re being taught blatant lies about a false Jesus Christ and how this false Jesus Christ “came, appeared, and arrived” in “his presence” in the first century. The Bible is not so loosey-goosey. It’s not so intellectually dishonest. It’s not about an Occult New Age religion false Christ that is mystical and hyper-spiritualized in the same way Occult New Age religions talk about “the Christ consciousness” and “the Christ within” and more.

The Covenant Eschatology Full Preterism cult DOES NOT HAVE THE JESUS CHRIST OF THE BIBLE!

People buying into this evil false teaching about a mystical Christ and “the Christ Presence that came in AD 70” are radically deceived, and they do not have the discernment that’s necessary to be able to see a cult for what it is. This is the way cults work. The bait must be put on the hook. And then you wait for somebody to chomp down on the bait. And once somebody is on the hook, it’s impossible to talk with them about how utterly wrong the cult definitions of theological terms really are. The hook is set. Only the genuine and true Lord Jesus Christ of the Bible can set somebody free. It’s never about intellectual wrangling, worldly wisdom, and fine sounding speech. These will never save anybody. You can only warn people when led to do so. And they’ll call you crazy for not buying into their mystical and metaphoric definitions they’ve taken on in the cult they joined.

They will insist to you, “Yes! Christ actually DID come back in his promised end time parousia in the first century! But in mystical and metaphoric ways, and not literally as a man descending from Heaven!”

And when you press them on, “Can you tell me exactly what form and what nature Jesus Christ had when he came in his presence?”, you get all kinds of dancing, dodging, and deflecting – instead of straightforward and honest answers!

You would think that such a monumental, extravagant, colossal, stupendous, and glorious event that the Bible focuses on – THE return and coming of Jesus Christ in his promised end time presence – would be super duper easily explained by a bunch of guys who have religious business careers based on “The END TIME coming, arrival, appearing, and presence of Christ already took place in the first century”!

Where’s the straightforward answer from these cult teachers concerning “What form and what nature did Jesus Christ have when he descended at the last trumpet in his promised end time presence?”

Why all the loosey-goosey answers from these cult leaders concerning “Exactly how, and in what form and nature did Jesus Christ show up with?” for such a grand monumental biblical event such as THE promised end time parousia of the Lord Jesus Christ?
