Parousia and Preterism

Gary DeMar. Doug Wilson. Jeff Durbin. Ken Gentry. And all the other New Postmillennialism guys as Partial Preterists…

The huge problem with New Postmillennial (Partial Preterism) guys is that they’re teaching Full Preterism, but they’ve convinced themselves that they’re Partial Preterists by saying a future and final coming of Christ will happen.

The huge problem is that what they’re teaching about what was fulfilled in the first century demands Full Preterism. They want to split what cannot be split according to the Bible.

They want the beginning of an eschatological (end time) parousia (presence) of Christ in the first century, then they have a 2000 year stretch of the eschatological parousia (presence) of Christ, then one day in the future, they want the ushering in of the eschatological parousia (presence) of Christ after Christians allegedly Christianize and Heavenize the world.

THIS IS NOT THE WAY THE ESCHATOLOGICAL (END TIME) PAROUSIA (PRESENCE) OF CHRIST WORKS!

According to the Bible, we don’t get “the installment plan” with “parousia” (presence).

Jeff Durbin and others can debate Full Preterism all they want with their marketing skills, slick rhetoric and shiny appearance, but they’re teaching Full Preterism at the core of their teachings.

It’s the same with Gary DeMar right now. Gary DeMar came up with the term “Full Stop Full Preterism” to allegedly distinguish some forms of Full Preterism from his version of Full Preterism, but he’s still teaching Full Preterism at the end of the day. – even though he says he is not. Gary DeMar simply wants HIS version to be accepted by “the Church”! They’re all trying to do this same thing!

These charlatans just sprinkle in a little Futurism with their Full Preterism, and then pretend it’s not Full Preterism anymore. These guys are scammers! They want their own flavor of Full Preterism to be established in “the Church”, but they don’t want to call it Full Preterism (yet). They all have Full Preterism, but it’s “nuanced” with their own flavor and stamp on it.

New Postmillennialism as Partial Preterism actually is Full Preterism. You can’t take the eschatological (end time) usage of the word parousia (presence) in the Bible and stretch it 2000 years. It’s being radically abused by big shots in Churchianity.

These big shots see “audience relevance” and “age-ending time texts”, and they apply “the end of the age” in the first century, but then they say the eschatological parousia – as the end times presence of Christ – merely BEGAN in the first century and is then STRETCHED OUT for 2000 years.

Nope! It ain’t happening this way in the Bible!

And this “parousia” or presence of Christ that they falsely define is allegedly STILL PROGRESSIVELY HAPPENING more and more as the years and centuries and millennia go by.

THIS IS NOT THE WAY THE WORD PAROUSIA IS USED IN THE NEW TESTAMENT FOR THE PRESENCE OF CHRIST!

The Greek word parousia is used 24 times in the New Testament, and 18 of these times it’s used for the eschatologcal (end time) presence of Christ. The end time (the eschaton, or end of the age) is not stretched out 2000 years. Parousia is not a hard word to study in the New Testament! It doesn’t take special schools or special teachers, scholars, pastors, etc. to study this word for yourself. Stop being taken for a ride and conned by big shots!

These guys are as slick, as slippery, and as compromised as can be! They have Full Preterism, they’re calling it Partial Preterism, and it’s on with the show! And that’s all they’re doing! They’re putting on a show! They truly are con men playing the confidence trick game. They’re like the priests, rabbis, and elders in Judaism in the first century who were all using religion to try and prop up their little mini careers and cults within Judaism, as they each try and take what they can of the market share of people looking for a teacher to tickle their ears (and there’s tons and tons of people like this).

Until people really come to see that these guys are marketing specialists for their brand they’ve created, and they essentially lie through their teeth to keep their brand alive, people will invest in them in one way or another, making themselves complicit in the scamming and evil that’s going on.

Becoming famous and popular in 501c3 Cultural Pseudo-Christianity does not mean these famous and popular people are going to Heaven. I say the opposite is true, because the compromise and conning that is necessary to become famous and popular in Churchianity is staggering to say the least.

Imagine how secure the first century Jews thought they were! Like Paul, they even thought that they were doing service to God by killing Christians. Well guess what, these slick charlatans today are so high and mighty, they think they can block and persecute true Christians who expose their evil! It’s a metaphoric murder and elimination, and they teach their disciples to act likewise! Truly shameful!

Celebrity pop pastors, teachers, influencers, religious business owners, etc. have set themselves up in ivory towers with plenty of support and protection as mini cult leaders. They’re in for a big surprise! “But Lord! Lord Jesus! I’ve done all these great things in your name!” And the reply is, “Be gone from me! For I never knew you!”

Some choose their rewards for the here and now in the world. Some choose their rewards for their afterlife in glory in the highest Heaven.
